The KDS attending Gale's Wedding |

The KDS
There's a story, a never ending story, about thirteen angels who were once all
one in themselves until the day they came down from Heaven. As the days passed
by, the angels joined together, and became one with each other, as a circle of
friends ~BEST FRIENDS~ sisters. These girls are my circle of friends, my BEST
FRIENDS, my sisters. We share everything together: laughs, tears, smiles,
secrets, jokes, long walks and talks, funny faces, promises...we even share the
stars. The list could go on and on. What happens to one of us happens to all of
us. We have all helped each other through so many difficulties, and when one of
us was down, the rest of the angels would spread their wings and help us fly
again. Our friendship was untouchable. Nothing could tear us apart.
One day our lives seemed to change so unexpectedly. Our college time that seemed
to last forever, was sadly but surely coming to an end. It was time for all to face the world. This would be a challenge for all of us. Some leaving and few
staying behind to watch as the others spread their wings and fly. There were
tears when we said our goodbyes, we all tried to remain strong. We kept in
touch. Some through email or text. We will have our once in a while get togethers, whether it be our yearly reunions or just chatting around in the
afternoon...as long as we're together.
When we are feeling lonely, we look up at the stars, at "our star." Sometimes
the memories may make us sad, but there will only be more great memories to
make. One day we will all be walking down the aisle in each other's weddings!
I'm not sure that there is a friendship as special as ours anywhere else in this
world, but I would like to hope that maybe there is. I hope that someone,
somewhere is feeling this very same way at this very same moment. It's such an
overwhelming feeling to know that you have twelve best friends for life and you
know that they will be there for you till the end of time. This bond between
can't be broken. Each one of these girls holds a special place in my heart, now,
at this moment, and forever, as long as I live. I love them with all of my heart
and with all that I am. I am who I am today because of these twelve angels in my
life. I don't know what I would do without them. So, to Aileen, Chas, Gale, Gem,
Ghil, Gigi, Jing, Jovy, Lanie, Lani, Myn, and Weng...I love you all. Thank you
for being such great friends and for always caring and being there. And most of
all, thank you for being a part of this never ending story. *Always Look Up* ~PDS

Friendship
Friendship isn't always easily described. The Eskimos, they say, have a hundred
different words for snow. Unfortunately, the English language isn't quite as
innovative, though it has vast opportunities to differentiate meaning.
Certainly, Love is one of those opportunities. And so, too, is Friendship.
Instead of different words, however, we're stuck with simple adjectives. Close
friend. Best friend. Childhood friend. Intimate friend. Trusted friend. Beloved
friend. But whether you use adjectives or different words, few could deny the
nearly infinite meaning in such a simple word.
Friends are special people. We can't pick our family, and we're sorely limited
in the number of them at any rate. Society and mores (and often our own
conscience) dictate we select a single mate. But our friends can be as diverse
and infinite as the adjectives we choose. Our friends, in a very real sense,
reflect the choices we make in life. |
